Wendi Louann (Melanson) Goodwin

1966 — 2020

Kannapolis

Wendi Louann Melanson Goodwin, 54 of Kannapolis, passed from this life on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at her home following a short illness.

Wendi was born April 12, 1966 in Blackfoot, Idaho; daughter of the late Louis and Barbra Melanson. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Melanson.

Wendi had a larger than life personality. Tenacity was one of her favorite words, she tried to use it daily. She loved her family fiercely and without boundaries.  She always tried to keep a positive attitude about things, even in the toughest of times. She was generous to family, friends and strangers a like.  Her huge heart had no limitations.  She was a fighter when it came to her medical challenges; she refused to let them get the best of her.  Her true joy in life came from her family.  There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for them. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

Family members left to cherish her memory are her husband and soulmate of 25+ years Jon Goodwin; her older Sister Lori & nephews Stephen & Matt Melanson of Bremerton, WA; Daughter Crystal Wilson of Concord, NC (Justin Wilson & Jeff Friday) & grandchildren Lily, Presley, Sawyer & River; Son Jevin Bourne of Kannapolis, NC (Teri Lynn & Lauren Morrison) & grandchildren Eli, Emilio & Lincoln; step-daughters Emlyn Goodwin of Idaho & grandchildren Sammy & Wyatt, and Christina Blair of Nebraska & grandchildren Collin & Jonathon; and Lifelong friend Shari McPherson.

Wendi’s final wish was for a cremation without a formal in person service.
