Obituary: Wesley "Bus" Morgan, Jr., 93, of Kannapolis passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2017. He was born March 25, 1924 in Rowan County, a son of the late Wesley N. Morgan, Sr. and Mary Bame Morgan. Bus, as he was called, had formerly worked as service manager at various auto dealerships including Sparks in Concord, McKnight and then retired from Randy Marion in Mooresville. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in WW II where he served in General Patton's 737th Amphibious Battalion. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. In earlier years, he enjoyed playing golf, fishing and his basset hounds. Wesley was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Mabel Brown Morgan, daughter, Sheri M. Church (Eddie) of Cleveland, son, Chris Morgan (Lisa) of Kannapolis, two grandchildren, Logan Shuman (Jonathan) and Landon Morgan and great grandchild, Jon Helen Shuman. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church officiated by Rev. Tom Christensen and Rev. Don Shuman. His body will lie in state 1 hour prior at church. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Saturday at Whitley's Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors by the Cabarrus Veterans Honor Guard.
