Obituary: Wilbur Joseph "Bill" Norris, Jr., 80 of Kannapolis, NC died at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis on Friday, February 25, 2016. Bill was born in Clinton Co., IA on August 3, 1935 the son of the late Wilbur Joseph Norris, Sr. and the late Ethel Mae Johnston Norris. Bill retired from the U.S. Air Force serving during Vietnam and retired as a Master Sergeant receiving the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal and The Bronze Star. Survivors include his wife; Carolyn Jackson Norris of the home, two sons; Bill Norris, III (Sheila) of Davidson and David Norris of Kannapolis, two grandchildren; Jeremiah Norris (Emily) and Joshua Norris (Jan), two great-grandchildren; Brigham and Veyda, a sister; Marilyn Jean Norris Walton of Clinton, IA. Also, by a niece and a nephew. A memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m., Monday, Feb. 29th at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. R.J. Hammond.
