Obituary: Wilhelmina "Willie" Register Collins, 81, of Kannapolis died Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Transitional Health Services of Kannapolis. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 9 at Truth Temple in Kannapolis with Rev. Garland Faw officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friend at Whitley's Funeral Home from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday February 8, at other times they will be at their respective residences. Willie was born March 24, 1929 in Columbus, NC, a daughter of the late Raleigh P. and Lizzie Puckett Register. She was a long time area resident and member of Truth Temple, Kannapolis. She served as House Parent to many children at the Church of God Orphanage in Kannapolis for over 20 years. Willie was a devout Christian and a great cook. She was a loving and devoted mother of 5 children, grandmother, great-grandmother and mother-in-law. She will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bolton Collins in 2001 and by 9 brothers and sisters. Willie is survived by her son, Tommy Arnette (Constance) of Mt. Pleasant, her daughter, Joanna Jane Washington (Joe) of Rockwell, her daughter, Hilda Boswell of China Grove, her son, Alton "Chris" Arnette (Sandy) of Kannapolis, her son, Dale Arnette of Kannapolis. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, her sister, Verna Gray Goodman of Landis and Brother, Edwin Register of China Grove. Visitation: 6-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, Feb. 8, at Whitley's Funeral Home.

Interment: Carolina Mem. Park.
