William Terry Berryman

Obituary: Terry Berryman William Terry Berryman, 72, of Kannapolis passed away on February 12, 2019. He was born August 27, 1946 in Cabarrus County, a son of the late William Dooley Berryman and Ola Mae Bullock Berryman. He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Yvonne Shaw (Bill). Terry had been a vocational teacher at CPCC in Charlotte and at the Piedmont Correctional Institute for many years. He worked at A.L. Brown High School as an E.C. assistant. Terry also had worked at Hilbish Ford. Terry was a huge supporter of A.L. Brown athletics where he had been involved in coaching various sports and was the "Video Coach" for many years filming all sports . He helped with the building and grounds after retiring at A.L. Brown maintaining all the ballfields. In his earlier years, Terry was active in coaching Dixie Youth baseball and YMCA sports as well as American Legion baseball. He and his wife were also involved with helping with concessions at Dixie Youth and American Legion games. He was a veteran of the US Army. He also was a member of Faith Baptist Church where he had been active in various church activities including former Sunday school teacher, deacon, usher, Sunday School Superintendent, Bus captain as well as many other activities. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019 at Faith Baptist Church officiated by Rev. James Pauley. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park with military honors by the Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard. His family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Whitley's Funeral Home. Terry is survived by his wife, Phyllis Harris Berryman, three children, Shane Berryman (Michelle), Chrissie Berryman, Chad Berryman (Judy), grandchildren, Alan Gross Jr., Joshua Gross, Jeremy Gross, Dakota Berryman, Caleb Berryman, Joshua Berryman, great grandchildren, Audrey and Sara Gross and a special grand pup, Odie. Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church, 904 Chipola Street, Kannapolis, NC 28083 and/or A.L. Brown Athletics, 415 E. 1st Street, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
