Obituary: William Michael Carey, 73, of Kannapolis, passed away, Friday, May 5, 2017 at the Brian Center of Concord. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 9, at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rick Felts officiating, burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park with Military Honors. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service at Whitley's Funeral Home. He was born March 31, 1944 in Cabarrus Co. to the late William Milton Carey and Lettie Dove Carey. Michael worked as a printer at Snyder Packaging for many years until his retirement. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed bowling, camping, the beach, and loved spending time with his family. Those left to cherish his memory, his wife of 44 years Lucille Carey, son Dale Carey (Jana) of Stanley, NC, daughter Crystal Poff (Jeffrey) of Lynnwood, WA, step granddaughter Leah Caswell, and his brother Larry Carey.
