Obituary: Rev. William Howard Davis, 81, of 1105 Highland Ave., Landis, NC died August 31, 2010 at NorthEast Medical Center in Concord, NC. Rev. Davis was born on March 16, 1929 in Wilkes Co., NC the son of the late Charles V. Davis and the late Orvle Laws Davis. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers; Wayne Davis and Charles Davis and sisters; Grace Johnson and Elsie Teasley. Rev. Davis was a graduate of Catawba College. Ministry was his life of which his ministry took him to Center Road Baptist, 1st Baptist in Oakboro, NC, New Hope Baptist and Blackwelder Park Baptist Churches. Survivors include his wife, Billie Murphy Davis of the home. 2 daughters; Debbie Davis of Kannapolis and Pam Phillips & husband, Mike of Mt. Pleasant, NC and a sister; Darlene Davis Brooks & husband, Troy of Kannapolis. Also by 3 brothers; John Davis and Earnest Davis both of Kannapolis and Donald Davis of China Grove. The funeral service for Rev. Davis will be held at 3 P.M. Friday, September 3rd at Blackwelder Park Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Gene Edwards. Burial will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove, NC. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 P.M. Thursday, September 2nd at Whitley's Funeral Home.
