Obituary: William Edward "Pete" Greene, 76, of Kannapolis passed away on June 6, 2016 at CHS-NorthEast. He was born June 3, 1940 , the son of the late Frank Greene and the late Annie Belle Greene Gadd. Pete was a veteran of the US Navy. He was also an avid golfer. He was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM Friday, 10, 2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Steve Leigh. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 12:00 prior at Whitley's. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Sorrow Greene, children, Kelly Greene of Kannapolis, Keith Greene (Faith) of Goodview, Va., Becky Moffett (Ray) of Fuquay-Varina, Thomas Gantt (Erica) of Spokane, Wa.,grandchildren, Grant Waller, Colton Greene, Paris Greene, Heather Corey, great grandchildren, Katherine Corey, Hailey Gantt, Lorelei Villandre, Dezirea Proctor, Rozy Proctor, brother, Dexter Greene of Charlotte, sisters, Jean Thompson (Lewis) of Salisbury, Nancy Wilson of Kannapolis.
