William Lee Grisdale

Obituary: William Lee "Bill" Grisdale age 94 went to be with the Lord Tuesday May 17, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Grisdale was Born February 24, 1917 in Mecklenburg County to the late James and Effie Cook Grisdale.He was educated in the Caburrus County Schools and was self employed as a building contractor for 58 years. Mr. Grisdale was a member of Bethpage United Methodist Church where he served on the Administration board for several years also working with the Cub Scout Pack. He loved to fish, hunt, garden and dearly love all animals. Mr. Grisdale was an avid harmonica player Playing with Arthur Smith and at the Lake Music Hall. Funeral services will be Friday May 20,2011 at 2:00 PM at Bethpage United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Coppley and Rev. Duane Melton in charge. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will see friends Thursday May 19.2011 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Whitley's Funeral Home at other times they will be at the home. Mr. Grisdale was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Sara Grisdale, a son Robert Ted Grisdale, two brothers Gilbert B. Grisdale and George Ray Grisdale. He is survived by one daughter Peggy Brown and husband Ross "Curley" Brown of the home and three adopted grand children of the heart Michel, Kaitlyn, and Emily. Visitation: 7-9:00 p.m., Thursday, May 19th at Whitley's Funeral Home.

Service: 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 20th at Bethpage United Methodist Ch.

Interment: Burial in the Church Cemetery.
