William Edward Gunnell

Obituary: William Edward "Butch" Gunnell, 67, of Concord, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014 at his home. He had lived in the Kannapolis area most of his life. Mr. Gunnell was born on June 6, 1947, in Cabarrus Co. NC, the son of the late Clyde Edward Gunnell and the late Patricia Vannoy Gunnell. He retired from Lefler Electronics in 2013. He is survived by a son, James Gunnell and a daughter, Shannon Gunnell ("Chuck" Charles Bonds); a sister, Kathy Watson (Jerry); by 4 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is also survived by 6 nephews and many great nieces and nephews who loved him very much. The funeral service will take place at 2:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 11, 2014 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Chris O'Guin. Burial will take place at Carolina Mem. Park. The family will receive friends 1-2:30 p.m., before the service.
