William Junior Hardin

Obituary: William Junior Hardin, age 82, entered into the Lord's presence Sunday, August 9, 2015 after many years of declining health. A resident of the Kannapolis area most of his life he was blessed to have many loving family and friends who knew him as "Bill". He was born in Stanley County April 2, 1933, the son of the late Leroy C. Hardin and Eva Mae Hardin. Bill served in the U.S. Air Force and was Honorably Discharged. He was employed as an auto mechanic and truck driver both of which he loved. Riding his motorcycle, NASCAR racing, his wonderful wife and all his family were his greatest loves of all. Bill loved the Lord Jesus Christ and was blessed to have many "earth angels" care for him in his declining years, as he lived in Valdese, NC with daughter Kelly and son-n-law, Ricky Wise 11 years before coming back home to K-town recently. Bill is survived by his son, Douglas, wife (Candy), daughter, Kelly Wise, husband (Rickey), sister, Ethel Naomi Revels from Gastonia, NC, two half brothers, Charles Hardin(Pauline) from Faith, NC and Clarence Hardin from Clarksville, TN, numerous half-siblings, five grandsons, Nathan Hardin, Nowell Hardin, Andrew Glosson, Daniel Glosson and Billy Glosson, two step grandchildren, Derek Wise, Bobbi Burleson, five great-grandchildren, four step great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, Ray Moss (Betty) of Kannapolis, sister-in-law, Barbara Hardin and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sarah Moss Hardin, a son David R. Hardin, brothers; Melvin Hardin, Roy Hardin, David Lee Hardin, Grover Hardin, L.C. Hardin and sisters, Pauline Hardin & Dorothy Hardin. The family is grateful to the Asheville VA, Hospice and home health workers who ministered to him. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at West Lawn Memorial Park. Whitley's Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
