William Dwight Howard

Obituary: William Dwight (Bill) Howard, age 64, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC. He was born January 1, 1950 in Cabarrus County, NC, the son of the Margaret McInnis Howard and the late James D. Howard, Sr. Bill was a 1968 graduate of A.L. Brown High School and attained an Associate's Degree at Wingate College. He also furthered his education at UNCC. Bill was employed with the former Cannon Mills Company, (Pillowtex Corp.) Plant Four, as a supervisor in maintenance for many years until the plant's closure in 2003. He later went to work with Carolinas Healthcare System up to the time of his retirement. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Pastor Jim Howard, his brother. Burial will be at a later date. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include his two daughters, Jennifer Howard and Emily Howard, both of Kannapolis, NC; and his brother, Jim Howard of Concord, NC. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
