Obituary: William Bryant Johnson, Jr. (Billy), age 51, died unexpectedly Sunday, September 11, 2011 at his home.He was born January 28, 1960 in Cabarrus County, NC, the son of William Bryant Johnson, Sr. of Kannapolis, NC and Sylvia Ellen Burleson Prater of Salisbury, NC.Billy was known as a roofer having worked with Johnson's Construction in Kannapolis, NC for most of his life. He was regarded as a loving, caring father by his children and grandchildren.A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Brian Duncan. Burial will be at a later date. The family will receive friends after the memorial service at the funeral home.Survivors in addition to his parents include his children, Candis J. Harris & husband, Todd of Juneau, AK, William Brandon Johnson & wife, Kelly of Salisbury, NC, and Jeanie Johnson & husband, Josh of Rockwell, NC; grandchildren, Kailey, Gaven, Hannah, and Evan; one sister, Cherry Greene of Salisbury, NC; three brothers, Larry Daniel of Salisbury, NC, Ted Johnson and Sam Johnson, both of Kannapolis, NC.On-line condolences may be left at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com.
