William C. Kiser

Obituary: William C. "Bill" Kiser, 91, passed away Friday morning, August 17, 2018, at his home, following a period of declining health. Born September 15, 1926, in Gaston County, he was the son of the late Cline and Bessie Wood Kiser. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sarah Kiser Hyman; and grandchildren, Matthew Kiser and Matthew Counts. Mr. Kiser had earlier worked 20 years for Cannon Mills, later retiring from Tom Jones Studio, which he dearly loved. Bill enjoyed time spent with his family. He loved nature, animals, especially squirrels, and loved to fish and hunt. Mr. Kiser will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Family members include his devoted wife of 72 years, Hazel A. Kiser; his sons, Steve Kiser (Ardith), Bob Kiser (Susie), Gary Kiser (Anna), and David Kiser (Terry), 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 pm Monday, August 20th at Whitley's Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Gary and Anna Kiser. Funeral services to remember and celebrate Mr. Kiser's life will begin at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, conducted by Pastor Donald Draughn. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
