Obituary: William Henry Odom, Jr., 61, of 1814 West C Street, Kannapolis, NC died at CMC-NorthEast in Concord, NC on Wednesday, May 19, 2010. Buddy was born on December 24, 1948 in Darlington, SC, the son of the late William H. Odom, Sr. and the late Margaret Hall Odom. In addition to his parents, Buddy is preceded in death by a brother, Freddie Odom. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Oliver Odom of the home and a daughter; Amy Self and husband, Shane of Mooresville. By 2 step-daughters; Emily Dixon and Karen McDonald both of Kannapolis and eleven grandchildren, 4 sisters and 2 brothers. Buddy was a good-hearted, loving man, devoted husband, father & grandfather. His grandchildren were his world that placed a smile on his face. The funeral service for Buddy will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 23rd at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Wayne Hall, Rev. Rich Seckley and Rev. Melvin Hall. Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 2-3 Sunday before the service.
