William Bernard Reigel

William Bernard Reigel, 76, of Kannapolis, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 22, 2024.

Bill was born on October 14, 1947 in Pennsylvania. He was a cherished son of the late Oscar Reigel and Angelina Giancola Reigel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gale R. Bennett Johnson.

Bill was an Army Veteran serving proudly in the Vietnam War. He spent his career working as an assembler for American Sterilizer/ Steris Corp., retiring after 36 years.

Bill embraced the outdoors with a passion for golf, hunting, and fishing. He could often be found in the kitchen, whipping up delicious meals that brought people together.

Family was at the core of Bill's heart. Camping trips with his children and visits to amusement parks created lasting memories of laughter and togetherness. Bowling was not just a hobby but a shared love with his late wife, Gale. Their league adventures became cherished moments of connection and friendly competition.

Bill was no stranger to the thrill of the open road. He enjoyed riding his Harley with Gale, every chance he could. They were both members of the Hog chapter in Salisbury where they enjoyed the camaraderie of fellow riders.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Bill Reigel (Abby), Jon Reigel, Kristin O’ Brien (Johnny), and Shannon Hefner (Al); 13 beloved grandchildren; and siblings, Mike Reigel (Amy), Judy Alderman (Lerry), Denise Reigel, Rick Reigel, and Renee Ferrara (Dave); and many loving nieces and nephews.
