William Andrew Rumple

Obituary: Pending Kannapolis, NC- William Andrew Rumple (Andrew), age 87, died unexpectedly Monday, May 18, 2009 at his home. He was born August 18, 1921 in Cabarrus County, NC, the son of the late Heman Shaw Rumple and Mary Bell Upright Rumple. After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Army where he had served during World War II in Germany, he was employed with the former Cannon Mills Company, Plt#1 #2 Weave Room for 25 years until his retirement.He also operated a garage for automobile mechanic work & tractor repairs for many years.He was a member of the Bethpage United Methodist Church, Kannapolis, NC most of his life. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Tucker Rumple; a son, Wayne Andrew Rumple. The funeral service will be 12:00 P.M. Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Randy Foster.Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC.The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include one son, Eddie C. Rumple & wife, Avis; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Bud Rumple of Kannapolis, NC.
