William Francis Seamon

William Francis Seamon, 91, of Kannapolis, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.

William was born on January 29, 1933 in Rowan County. He was a cherished son of the late James Seamon and Margaret Alexander Seamon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald “Butter” Seamon.

A proud Army veteran, William dedicated his career to carpentry at Cannon Mills. He married the love of his life, Grace Seamon on May 24, 1952 and have been happily married for 72 years.

An avid golfer, William loved spending time on the course and enjoyed two-step dancing at the senior center. He took great pleasure in sharing lunches with his wife at VFW Post 8989, where he was a proud member. A dedicated Braves baseball fan, he cheered passionately for his team, and he valued the friends he made at the Moose Lodge.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 72 years, Grace Moose Seamon; his children, Billie (Robert) Schindler, Julie (Georgette) Hooper, and John (Aldi) Seamon; his Grandchildren, Dalton, Auston, Michael, and Savannah; and his brothers, Jimmy and Tommy Seamon. William was also blessed with many caring friends.

The family will receive friends from 12-1:00pm on Sunday, September 1, 2024 at Whitley’s Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00pm in Whitley’s Chapel. Interment will immediately follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove with full military honors.
