Obituary: Mr. William Thomas Tyner, Jr, 72, of Concord went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Five Oaks Manor following a period of declining health. William was born June 16, 1942 in Darlington County, SC a son of the late William Thomas Tyner, Sr. and the late Eva Dixon Tyner. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ruth Kirby Tyner who died July 27, 2006, and two sisters, Virginia Campbell and Kathy Tyner. He was a 1960 graduate of Hartsville High School and was a veteran serving in the US Navy. He was self- employed in heating and air conditioning sales and instillation. He also owned and operated the "Goody Wagon". He enjoyed fishing, golfing and traveling. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel conducted by Rev. Clint Efird. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park with military graveside rites. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:30 AM- 1:00 P.M. Tuesday prior to the service. At other times they will be at their respective residences. Survivors include three daughters, Regina Tyner (Rhonda Bachman) of Asheville, Angela Tyner (J.T. Mabry) of Locust and Stacey Raper (Danny) of Kannapolis. He is also survived by five sons, Jeff Tyner (Crystal) of Concord, Sloan Fox (Debbie) of Philadelphia, Tim Fox (Barbara) of China Grove, Charles Fox (Jeannie) of Kannapolis and Joe Fox (Cheryl) of Mt. Pleasant. He is also survived by two brothers, J.D. Tyner (Gloria) of Hartsville, SC and Johnny Tyner (Vivian) of Hartsville, SC, two sisters, Carolyn Jordan ( late Leaverne) of Patrick, SC and Elaine McLaughlin (Ralph) of Hartsville, eighteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
