Mr. William Glenn Watts age 67 of Mount Pleasant passed away January 21,2021. Born September 6, 1953 in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the late Roy W. Watts and Ida Brawley Watts.
Glenn grew up in Kannapolis, graduate of A.L Brown 1971 and had a degree in textiles from Belmont College. He was a supervisor for 25 years in Cannon Mills Co. Glenn retired from National Starch and Chemical Co. Salisbury, NC. His church and civic activities include serving several local churches as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent, RA Leader, Pulpit and other committees. A Master Mason member of Cannon Memorial Lodge, in Kannapolis and member of Charity Baptist Church.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting coins, and his favorite time was spent with his loving family of 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years Barbara (April 10, 1985); son Justin Watts & wife Kassie of Kannapolis; step son Michael Young & wife Tracy of Mount Pleasant; sister Karen Watts of St. Louis, Missouri; brother Roy Watts and wife, Kathy of St. Louis, Missouri; 6 grandchildren: Kathryn Green, Mitchell (Julie) Young, Brooke (Travis) Benfield, Alison Phelps, Blake Phelps, Drake Watts; 3 great-grandchildren: Zoë Jacobs, Cade Benfield and Cohlsen Benfield. Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Watts Phelps.
Funeral services will be live streamed from Charity Baptist Church at www.charity.church , 10:00 AM Monday January 25, 2021. Dr. Marty Payton will officiate. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Charity Baptist Church 2420 Brantley Road Kannapolis, NC 28083.
