William Lin (Frank) Wilson

Obituary: William Franklin "Frank" Wilson, 88, of China Grove passed away on Monday, October 30, 2017. He was born December 24, 1928 in Chesterfield County, SC in the town of Mt. Croghan. He was the son of the late Jule and Ethel Gibson Wilson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Mae Lear Wilson. Frank retired after more than 40 years from Cannon Mills as a loom fixer working in the #7 weave room. He was known to many as the "clock man" and enjoyed any opportunity to repair or buy antique clocks. He was a member of Kannapolis Church of God where he served as an usher for more than 40 years. He also volunteered for Helping Hands (formerly Big Elm Retirement). Frank also enjoyed gardening and took great satisfaction in growing his own vegetables. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Barbara Watkins. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 12:00 PM prior at Whitley's. Frank is survived by a daughter, Mary Anderson (Johnny) of Kannapolis, two grandchildren, Sherita Hunt (Glen) of Franklinville, NC, Chrystal Earnhardt (James) of Salisbury, step-grandson, Monte Anderson (Sherri) of Salisbury, and three great-grandchildren, Anna Poteat, Andrew Poteat and Terran Earnhardt.
