William Woody Winburn

Obituary: William "Woody" Winburn, age 45, died at his home in Rockwell on December 23, 2016. His death was unexpected. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 31 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel with Rev. Allen Montgomery and Christopher Winburn officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Saturday, prior to the service. Woody was born May 3, 1971 in Rowan Co., a son of the late William and Barbara Ann Wallace Winburn. Woody was a supervisor at Gentry Mill until he retired on disability. He was a member of New Grace Baptist Church in Concord. Woody enjoyed cooking, watching TV and supported the Tar Heels and the Cowboys. He will be deeply missed by family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Lee Shaver and his granddaughter, Chloe Winburn. Woody is survived by his wife, Crystal Wallace Winburn; his sons, Jacob, Chris and Johnny and his brother, Richard Winburn of Kannapolis. Online condolences may be left at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com
