William “Bill” Thomas Looman, 77, of Davidson went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 17, 2020 at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis following a short illness.
Bill was born July 12, 1942 in Raleigh County, WV, a son of the late John Jefferson and Mary Virginia Furr Looman.
He was of the Pentecostal Faith. Bill was a driver for BFI for 26 years until his retirement. He collected baseball cards and yo-yos. He enjoyed working outside in his building, and eating peppermints.
He loved the West Virginia mountains.
Family members left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 1/2 years, Betty Tate Looman of the home, two daughters; Angie Troisi (Andy) of Concord and Wanda Shoup (Frank) of Kannapolis, one sister, Cheryl Beasley of Autreyville, NC, one brother, Donald Looman of Detroit, four grandchildren; Jeremy and Jessee Parham, Samatha and Summer Shoup and ten great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his two canine companions, Bear and Precious.
Funeral services to honor Bill’s life will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, January 20, 2020 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Michael Braden. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. The family will receive friends at Whitley’s Funeral Home Sunday, January 19, 2020 from 4:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M.
The family requests that memorials be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
