Interment: Carolina Memorial Park. Obituary: Wincie Mae Pethel, 79, of Kannapolis entered the gates of Heaven on Thursday, May 11th 2017 at her home after a battle with cancer. Wincie was born March 7th in Chesterfield County, SC to the late Boyd and Beulah Knight. She was preceded in death by her husbands Brooks Gulledge, Sr. and Charlie Pethel. Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Judy Lyles and husband Gary, Linda Simpson and husband David, Brooks Gulledge, Jr. and wife Nannette, Tony Gulledge and wife Dawn; four grandchildren Stephen Campbell, Cameron Gulledge and wife Caila, Lacie Hall, Aaron Hall; one great grandchild Isaiah Hall; step children Bonnie Pethel, Ronnie Pethel; and loving sister Ivie Richardson. She was preceded in death by her brothers; infant Curtis Boyd, Tony, Melvin, Gerald, and Mitchum Knight. Wincie was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother who always put her family first. She was a devoted Christian, loved the music of the Gaither family and loved to help those in need. She was a former member of Bright Light Baptist Church and later attended Bethpage United Methodist Church. Two of her favorite things to do were cook for her family and work in her garden. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched. The Service for Mrs. Pethel will take place at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 15th at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Duane Melton. Burial will take place at Carolina Mem. Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 before the service at Whitley's.
