Amy (Nash) Ritchie

November 8, 1967 — February 17, 2021

Kannapolis

Amy Nash Ritchie, 53, of Kannapolis passed away February 17, 2021. She was born November 8, 1967 in Cabarrus County, a daughter of the late Harold and Hazel Roberts Nash. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Teresa Nash Jordan.

Amy worked at FedEx for 25 years until retiring due to her health. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Amy was a graduate of A.L. Brown High School and a proud alumnus of UNC-Chapel Hill. Amy loved spending time with her family, especially going to her boys’ ballgames over the years. She also loved her dogs, especially Molly, her baby girl.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Jim Watford and Rev. Kirk Tutterow. Her family will receive friends after the service at Whitley’s. (Please follow COVID protocols during the service and visitation; masks and social distancing required)

Amy is survived by her husband, Linn Ritchie, sons, Zebulon Ritchie and Casey Ritchie, brothers, David Nash (Dana), Jamie Nash (Kim), many nieces, nephews and “grammy-children,” and good friend, Doris Phillips. She was also preceded in death by two close friends, Tina Eubanks and Patty Blake Gilliam.

Amy’s family would like to thank all that have supported and loved Amy throughout her fight with cancer, Dr. James Wall, Dr. Meghan Steiner, Cindy Wise, all the doctors and nurses at LCI of Concord; Dr. Carey Anders and Donie Magee of Duke Cancer Center; her loving friends and many others of Amy’s Army.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation and/or The Duke Center for Brain & Spine Metastasis in memory of Amy Nash Ritchie (Amy’s Army).
