Kannapolis-
Margaret Sells Long Taylor, 91, peacefully entered Heaven Saturday morning, April 24, 2021, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
Born October 3, 1929, in New London, NC, she was the daughter of the late Burette and Martha Mae Trexler Sells. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Albert Taylor; brother, Bob Sells; and a grandson, Steven Beam.
Mrs. Taylor retired from Crompton and Knowles after 25 years of devoted service. Margaret was married for 27 years to the love of her life, Harry Taylor. They owned and operated Mar’Sells gift shop and Taylor’s Garden Supply in Kannapolis. She was a member of Midway United Methodist Church, active in the United Methodist Women, and a member of the Hettie Womble Circle. Her love for God, Church, family and friends were evident in her daily life. Margaret and Harry loved to travel with friends, spend time with family and celebrate the birth of Christ, her favorite time of the year.
Family members left with cherished memories include her children, Patton Long, of Simpsonville, SC, Priscilla Long Hinson of Salisbury, Monica Long Miller (Berry) of Charlotte, Dianne Taylor McKnight of Charlotte, Jan Taylor Cooper, Wilmington, NC, and Libby Taylor MacConaugha of Atlanta, GA.; 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and extended family members.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm Tuesday, April 27th at Midway United Methodist Church, 708 S. Main Street, Kannapolis, NC 28081. Funeral services to remember and celebrate the life of Mrs. Taylor will begin at 2:00 pm at the church, conducted by Rev. Dr. Carl Manuel, Jr. and Rev. Adam C. Love. Burial will follow the service at Carolina Memorial Park, where Mrs. Taylor will be laid to rest with her husband. Standard Covid-19 precautions will be required..
