Richard Wayne Perry, 70 of Kannapolis, passed away at his home Wednesday, July 20, 2023,
He was born November 18, 1952, in Cabarrus Co. to the late Loyd Alexander Perry and Virginia Marie Royal Perry.
Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country during the Vietnam war, early in life he worked in roofing and most of his career with P&G Security. He was a deacon at his church and a member of the Knights of Columbus and a long-time leader for Boy and Girl Scouts.
He was preceded in death by a sister Margie Carpenter and a brother Bill Perry.
Those left to cherish his memory, his wife Elayne Shaver Perry, four children, Kathryn P. Sherry (Matthew) of Salisbury, Karyn P. Platt (Chris) of Virginia Beach, VA, Kevin Perry (Darla) of Kannapolis, Kim P. Crosby (Brett) of Harrisburg, 13 grandchildren and 11 Great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 10:00 AM, July 26, at Salisbury National Cemetery, with military honors.
Memorials maybe made to Boy or Girl Scouts of America or St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
